Gilmer Athletic Booster Club
Annual Meeting
June 28, 2007

MINUTES

The annual meeting of the Gilmer Athletic Booster Club was called to order by President, Karen Mannis at 6:00pm.  
Those present were: Lena Childress, Mary Jo Dean, Jack Hamil, Jean Hamil, Debra Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Melvin
Dodd, Joe Dodd, Henry Troell, Jocelyne Carter, Kyle Carter, Chester Studdard, Robert Cox, Jill Turner, Gina Barr,
Lanette Clemens, Jeff Clemens, Jeff Harborth, Kathy Harborth, Stephen deGala, Tedd Austin, Dean Haws, Jason
Jenkins, Tyrone Fort, Kyle Carter, Dean Burns, and Coach Jeff Traylor.

Henry Troell read the minutes from the last annual meeting.  A motion to approve the minutes was made by Dean
Burns and seconded by Kathy Harborth.  Motion passed unanimously.

The following items were discussed and approved:
Meet the Buckeyes will be held at Buckeye Stadium on August 11th.  A meal will be served to all athletes before the
event in the cafeteria.  Corporate sponsors for this event will be Etex, First National Bank, Gilmer National Bank, and
Stop A Minit.  A banner will be displayed on the stadium entrance to recognize these sponsors.

Football posters will be sold by Kathy Lee, and Volleyball posters will be sold by Becky Burns.

Lunch with the Coach will be held at noon at the Gilmer Country Club beginning August 27th.  This lunch will be a
members only function with members presenting their membership cards at the door to enter.  

Reserved parking at all home games will continue as in the past with the Gilmer
Volunteer Fire Department policing the entrance to the parking.  A donation will be made to the Fire Department at
the end of the season.

Jocelyn Carter volunteered to build a new website and keep it updated.  This project is currently underway.

Membership dues will stay the same as last year, which are $25.00 for regular membership, and $250.00 for
preferred membership which will include a parking pass.  

All officers of the Booster Club will receive complimentary preferred memberships to the club.

Tedd Austin was chairman of the nominating committee, and recommended the following people to serve as officers
for the 2007-08 year.  Karen Mannis-President, Joni Elms-Vice President, Lanette Clemens-Secretary, Henry Troell-
Treasurer.  No nominations came forth from the floor.  Jeff Harborth brought the motion to close the nomination and
accept the candidates as identified.  Stephen deGala seconded the motion.  The motion was passed by unanimous
consent

Coach Jeff Traylor gave a report on the new field house and gave an explanation about the motto of the football
team this year, which is “The Dash”.   He also thanked the Booster Club for their work this past year and for
providing the student athletes with meals at Meet the Buckeyes, Spring Track Meet, and the Athletic Banquet held in
May.  He thanked the club for the generous donation of 5 $1000.00 scholarships awarded to senior students at the
Athletic Banquet and for providing t-shirts to participants in the Gilmer Athletic Booster Club 7 on 7 tournament held
in June.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:40pm.
